MEC dispatch engineers by all customer request for the inspection and maintenance against the following class and major requirements in purge time before dock, anchoring time, between loading and unloading.
１） TANK
・Calibration of Gauges (Pressure Gauge, Thermometer, Level Gauge)
MEC supply these gauges and parts
For inspection of Gauges, it usually needs to remove many gauges, like
pressure gauges and thermometers, and transport to authorized company from
ship. In this case, we have heard from our customers that there were damage
to these inspected gauges by vibration and shock in transportation.
MEC carry out on-board inspection and submit inspection record and certificate.
Our customers do not worry about the damage in transportation any more.
In periodical survey, the cargo tanks are opened and MEC checked tank inside
and float type level gauges and slip tube gauges, etc.
After making reports, MEC make technical explanation to ship's classification
and get approval.
・Customs formalities (new/renewal and extension of measuring instruments, new/renewal of tank tables, etc.)
Ocean-going vessels, which carry cargo not only in Japan but also overseas, determine the amount of cargo to be imported or exported by measuring instruments (pressure gauges, thermometers, and liquid level gauges) in cargo tanks. These measuring instruments are periodically inspected (measuring instruments are renewed every 2 years and tank tables every 10 years) in the presence of a third-party inspection agency certified by the customs office. We apply for the measuring instruments and tank tables on behalf of our customers, check the accuracy of these measuring instruments, and report the results to the third-party verification body and the customs office for approval.
・Checking Cargo Tank Inside, Saddle and Support,etc
During the periodic inspection, we inspect the tanks for foreign objects and abnormalities in the internal structure, and submit a report and technical explanation to the ship's classification authority for approval.
・Inspection in the hold space
We inspect the tank support system, rotation and movement prevention devices in the hold space, and the surrounding structural members, heat insulating materials, etc., and submit a report and technical explanation to the ship's classification authority for their approval.
2) CARGO PUMP for LPG/VCM
We replace the mechanical seals and ball bearings of the pump and perform maintenance on the lower part of the pump, and submit a report and technical explanation to the ship's classification office for approval. If a cargo pump needs to be overhauled, please contact us 3 months prior to the scheduled docking date, and we will perform the overhaul, including parts arrangement. Some parts are made of special carbon, etc., and it will take a considerable amount of time for delivery, so please contact us as soon as possible.
３）CARGO COMPRESSOR for LPG/VCM
MEC carry out the General Examination,Maintenance, overhaul for Cargo compressors.
After making reports, MEC make technical explanation to ship's classification
and get approval.
MEC carry out overhaul including parts supply.
４）CARGO MONITORING SYSTEM
MEC carry out the General Examination and Performance Tests for Cargo monitoring
system by IGC Check sheet.
MEC make explanation to ship's crews about these alarms.
Major requires ship's crews to operate and explain the alarm system.
５）VALVE
MEC carry out maintenance for Globe Valve, Emergency Shut Down Valve, Slip
Tube Gauge, etc. and parts' supply
from each customer's request, MEC satify the major requirement to stop
the leakage for each valve.
６）SAFETY VALVE
MEC carry out the General Examination and Performance Tests(Popping Test,
etc.), Maintenance, overhaul and parts supply.
After making reports, MEC make technical explanation to ship's classification
and get approval.
７） OTHER CARGO EQUIPMENT (CARGO HEATER,etc.)
MEC check and parts supply for Cargo Heater, Condenser, Mist Separator,
Knockout Drum, Drain Tank and other cargo handling equipments.
After making reports, MEC make technical explanation to ship's classification
and get approval.
８）COMBUSTIBLE GAS ALARM SYSTEM (FIXED & PORTABLE TYPE)
MEC carry out the General examination and performance tests, Maintenance
for Fixed and Portable gas alarm system.
After making reports, MEC make technical explanation to ship's classification
and get approval.
９）OXGEN DETECTOR
MEC carry out the General examination and performance tests, Maintenance
for Oxgen Detector.
After making reports, MEC make technical explanation to ship's classification
and get approval.
10）PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (BREATHING AIR APPARATUS, etc.)
MEC carry out the General examination for Protection equipments.

and get approval.
11）FIRE ALARM SYSTEM
MEC carry out the General examination for Fire alarm system.
After making reports, MEC make technical explanation to ship's classification
and get approval.
12）Technical Assistant to Classification in Docking time
MEC make technical explanation to ship's classification and get approval after inspection.
13）Dry Chemical Fire Extinguishing System
We will conduct bottle calibration and operational checks of the dry chemical fire extinguishing system, submit a report, and provide a technical explanation to the ship's classification authority for their approval.
14）Fire extinguisher ignition
Fire extinguishers are inspected, a report is submitted, and a technical explanation is provided to the ship's classification authority for approval.
15）Technical support for ship classification at dock
We inspect the ship's classification and prepare a report of the inspection items, as well as provide a technical explanation to the ship's classification authority for approval.
